The London School of Painting and Drawing offers one drawing class per week. The venue at the Maria Assumpta Centre is warm and friendly and as a result the atmosphere in the class is always relaxed and creative.
Each Tuesday Tom Davies and Andy Pankhurst set up various poses with one to three models with the focus on composition, line, colour, etc. Each course begins with a basic introduction to drawing, setting you up to achieve a level of drawing from the life model. Whatever your level the class will offer new challenges and really make an improvement to your work.

Our painting classes are now growing in demand with every year as our students are gaining confidence with the working of colour.
Just like the drawing classes on Tuesday evenings, each new painting day offers different models, different poses and lighting and, most importantly, a different focus - aimed at exploring ideas and observation. The classes are open to students of all levels, are friendly and relaxed and with two tutors permanently on hand to offer advice and support everybody will find an atmosphere designed to be positive and creative.
Materials: Basic materials are provided, including: easels, palettes, drawing boards, drawing paper, pencils, charcoal, white spirit, jam jars and brushes. However, we do advise you to bring along your own brushes if you have any.
We also provide a limited number of canvas's in a variety of sizes for sale. It is important that you bring with you all the materials that you will need.

WELCOME TO THE LONDON SCHOOL OF PAINTING AND DRAWING
The London School of Painting and Drawing is a venture set up by experienced artists and acclaimed tutors from the Royal Society of British Sculptors and the Slade School of Fine Art.
Students will be encouraged to develop ways of representation through the imaginative response to the observed world. Classes will explore various aspects of proportion and scale, composition, space, light and form.
The London School of Painting and Drawing is unique in not having a 'house style' but instead offers you the rare opportunity of working directly from the model aided by careful, individual tuition designed to encourage and develop your own individual creativity.
All levels of experience welcomed.

PAINTING EVENTS
'PICASSO' PAINTING DAY follows a successful 'Freud' Painting Day.
The next event on the 24 March 2012 will focus on the paintings of Pablo Picasso, related to the exhibition on the Tate Britain. We will begin the day with a critical debate and review of this famous 20th century Spanish Artist, a towering genius who changed the face of modern art. The day will begin with a slide talk given by Andy and Tom. As always, these talks will give you the inspiration to capture your imagination.
